MOM + POP’s

Recently opened on October 11, 2022, this diner is a modern mom and pop kitchen. Among others, the menu includes various burgers, chicken and biscuits. It located across the River Bank lodge.

Hand of Fate Brewing Company

The best beer in the state, hands down (they won the Illinois 2018 Bicentennial Craft Beer Award). Located on the north side of the square. Sign up for trivia on Wednesday nights and have a snack while you and your team crunch your brains.

West of Wise Winery

From rosés to red blends, this local spot has tons of great wines (and a rustic tasting room that is open Wednesdays - Sundays). Located three miles south of town on Route 97.

Hill Prairie Winery

Sample delectable wines in their 100-year-old barn that overlooks with vineyard (plus, there is live music every Sunday afternoon). Located seven miles north of town on Route 97.

Parkside Tavern

This hometown hangout is a perfect place to catch up with friends or watch a game in a country setting (and they have a large deck overlooking the river). Located two miles south of town on State Park Road.
